Academy Code of Conduct
For over 85 years, techniques developed by the world-famous Gracie family have dominated the martial arts world. The Gracies and their students have experienced tremendous success in Jiu-Jitsu competitions and mixed martial arts events.

Learning Gracie Jiu-Jitsu does NOT require superior strength or speed, nor any prior martial arts training. Wulfrun Jiu-Jitsu offers a relaxed training environment and classes are open to men and women of all ages.

While training at Wulfrun Jiu-Jitsu, one can expect to:
-
Increase self-confidence, self-esteem, and co-ordination;
- Improve flexibility and fitness;
- Develop faster reflexes;
- Learn the science of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense.

CLASS STRUCTURE
Lesson begins with warm up and fundamental Brazilian Jiu Jitsu drills followed by techniques, which will be dissected and explained in detail, techniques will include stand up and ground work (striking, takedowns and grappling). The last part of the lesson will focus on sparring, mainly focusing on groundwork.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
All students are required to wear an official RGDA gi for all Jiu-Jitsu classes. For no-gi classes, appropriate no-gi attire is needed (long-sleeve rash guard and gi pants).
Visitor gis are available for use.

CODE OF CONDUCT WHILE TRAINING
Maitaining a positive approach while training is crucial to overall progress. Rather than focusing only on defeating your training partner, one must try hard to apply techniques in a skilful, relaxed manner. If one relies too much on power and strength to prevail, the primary concepts of Jiu-Jitsu are not being used.
Training is a time for experimenting and to use various techniques. One must accept that submissions and being submitted are part of the learning process.
As soon as someone taps, the lock/choke must be released IMMEDIATELY.  NO neck cranks, heel hooks, spine locks are allowed. Intentional slamming during take-downs or guard- work is NOT permitted.
Leave egos at the door! We train together to learn from each other.

WULFRUN JIU-JITSU ACADEMY RULES
1. Be respectful to everyone within the academy.
2. We ask that students arrive early and be prepared to start class promptly at the scheduled time. If late, students must sit to the side and wait for the instructor's permission to join the class.
3. If a student must leave the mat or leave class early, please let the instructor know. This is out of courtesy and for safety reasons.
4. Talking during class should be kept to a minimum to avoid disturbing others.
